In this short article, I will show you how you can raise some extra funds for charity by using reusable cups at your festivals or events.
This third option is a mix of the 2$ deposit and the “all included” plan we discussed last weeks.
First, you’ll need to decide on a deposit amount for each reusable cup. We suggest a $2 deposit, but you can choose any amount you prefer.
Then, at the end of your event, you’ll set up a small booth or few bins to collect the cups WITHOUT paying back the $2 deposit. People who want to donate will return their cups for free to raise more funds for your selected charity.
From my experience, you can collect around 75% of all deposits for the good cause.
BUT, it’s important that you advertise it well and have notices displayed during the event so that your guests understand how you will use this extra money.
